REAR SLIDE FELL OUT WHILE IN IT..rockwood roo

Our 2009 Rockwood Roo 21RS travel trailers BED fell out of the trailer while we were sleeping in it !! My husband rolled out to the right, I fell with the room! We are NOT heavy and had no inclination that this would happen...we were sound asleep heard a crack and down it went...pics incl. I have YET to hear from ANYONE from Forest River or the Rockwood division after numerous calls and emails. I would hate to think what might have happened if a child was in that bed sleeping OR if it happened during the day w/a child or pet underneath it at the time...we got denied a claim and we are at a stand still as to what next...the ins. co is saying a mfg. defect I want to warn everyone to ck their slides and/frames if possible.....

That should never happen. Curious what gave way. Hard to tell in the pictures. I'm sure FR will use the old "out of warranty" excuse, but in my opinion, something wasn't right. Being it is a 2009, who knows what could've went wrong. It was built in the downturn of the industry.

i've never seen anything like that happen, in all the time there have been rear bed slide Roo/Shamrock TTs.

i think Gregg Rollins is still the Roo/Shamrock person to contact at FR.
he responds to emails better than voice mails.

Whoa! as the owner of the identical model, that makes me very nervous, even though we just had the slide repaired at the factory due to cracking of the "Alumalite" I hope their repairs included inspection of the welds referenced in this post. I really do love our 21RS.

Kant160, I'm sorry to hear of the slide falling, and hope first and foremost that everyone is OK.

Herk notified me about the post and the incident about an hour ago. I'd not yet seen the post until then. I've contacted the head of the four Flagstaff/Rockwood plants and Leo Akins, who headed up our service operations at the FROG Rally. Leo has already been in touch with the appropriate service staff.

Will you please send me a PM with your contact information so that I can have service follow up with you? If you prefer, you can also send it to the e-mail address in my signature.

Thanks!

Bob I am glad too know that this group has good contacts at FR. I plan on being a member of this forum for a long time and I hope I never have to use these contacts to settle a manufacture issue.

There's nothing like getting out of the wrong side of the bed.

I always wondered if this could happen.

Good luck.

Glad everyone is ok and hope you have some success with FR. I would think they would at least want to look at it and investigate what happened

Just FYI, I saw where the OP posted this in another thread and Bob Byrne replied seeking a PM with contact info from her so that he can put her in touch with the correct folks at the factory to move the matter forward.

EDIT: Never mind this post by me, looks like some ex post facto merger has occurred. (SEE BOB'S REPLY ABOVE)

A reminder to everyone; please post your issue in the most appropriate spot and no where else. If your issue fails to get traction because you made a mistake in where you posted it, contact a Moderator to move it to the correct area.

Spamming the forum with many posts/threads on the same issue results in negative synergy because not everyone sees what is going on in other threads and what the outcome was if the issue was solved.

At least give us a few days to get a light on your issue! Most likely you have been dealing with it for weeks/months before coming here!

The staff here are volunteers and "have day jobs"; Herk
