Actuator gearbox failed - broken tooth. Advice from anyone about replacing electric motor/gearbox unit on bedroom slide?

Should still be under warranty.

Here are some "how to" files and sources for the motor assembly:

Thanks for good info.

Yes still under warranty but on a extended trip 1600 miles from dealer. Don't want to take it to a FR warranty shop and be stranded for weeks or month or more in a hotel.

So purchased motor/gearbox direct from FR Parts, shipped express. Concerned I will misalign chain/cables after replacing the motor/gearbox.

Good news is Rockwood warranty dept agreed to cover under warranty (reimburse) cost of motor, shipping and labor for repair.

Think I found a nearby mobile repair service experienced with BAL Accu-Slide room slideouts. I will probably have to pay for service call charge. Fingers crossed that RV technician can actually fix it.

Alignment should be easy enough if you measure from an edge to the chain and just unhook the old and hook the new one up. I would imagine there is a little play in the mounting holes.

I'll need a pair of screw jacks to support weight of extended slide-out. Old Coot's suggestion of measuring position of drive chain is good. I can mark exact spot where sprocket gear engages drive chain by small nylon zip ties in chain links touching sprocket teeth.

Plan coming together.

Use your awning poles to hold the slide.

Anybody open up the gear box on the norco motor & gear box combo to see what gear has broken teeth? Can this gear be replaced? How about a spare set of gears for this gear box, can't be that expensive.
