Rockwood 8265WS Wardrobe Slide Won't Go In

I have a 2010 Rockwood 5th Wheel mod 8265 WS. On my last camping trip I was unable to retract the wardrobe slide, although it extended fine. It was almost like there was no power to it. I've never had any problems with it before. For those that don't know, the wardrobe slide on this RV has the cables instead of the typical gear driven parts used on most larger slides (It's a "B.A.L Accu-slide"). I checked all the fuses and all looks good. I also called a technician at Norco who make this slide component and he recommended I wire a battery directly to the slide motor which I did, and the slide came in with no problems. I checked the wall switch and no power. So, it appears that there is a problem somewhere between the battery and the switch. Does anyone know if there is an in-line fuse somewhere? Has anyone had this same problem? Thanks for any help.

I'm not familiar with your model, but it's possible there's a resettable current limiter behind the switch. Did you pull the switch and look in the wall?

We used to have that same model camper. When the kids would run the slide out, they held on to the button too long and blew the fuse. The fuse is a blade type located inline behind the electrical panel, under the fridge. After about the third time removing the panel to replace a fuse, I got a circuit breaker that plugs into a fuse holder and installed that into both slide out fuses holders. Then, if they held it down too long, it would just click the breaker and reset in a few seconds.

So, just to be clear. When you say blade type fuse, you're talking about one of the regular automotive type fuses in the fuse panel? The only one labeled SO (Slide out) is in the #2 position and it's a 15Amp. If that's the one, I've checked that and it appears to not be blown. In fact, I've checked all the fuses.

Or is there one behind the entire fuse assembly? Not sure what you mean by in-line "behind the electrical panel". Not sure if you mean behind the fuse panel door or behind the entire fuse assembly. Thanks!

In our camper, the fuse was behind the electrical panel. I had to remove it from the wall to see the mess of wires. The fuse was inline in a black plastic fuse holder. Not an easy thing to find.

Thanks very much -- I found the one you're referring to. It's a 30 AMP, and it WAS blown. I changed it a,d hit the switch and it worked -- for about 2 secs -- blew the fuse again. I'm going to change the fuse again and use a jumper to bypass the switch. Hopefully the switch is the culprit. Thanks again for all your help!! Will keep you posted.

The saga continues.... It wasn't the switch. I jumped the correct terminals where the switch plugs into the socket and it blew the fuse both on "in" and "out"-- switch positions tried several times. The problem (short) has to be between the in-line 30 A fuse and the battery. Will work on that this weekend.
