Rockwood8280 slideout problem
Went to run slideout out and did not go . Can hear the motor run , the manual shaft is under the steps turns with the motor and I can turn it with my fingers , there is some resistance like I'm turning the motor or more . I can also move that shaft in and out about 6 " , anyone familiar with this slideout and this problem ?

Sounds like you might have sheared the drive pin on the racks drive gear.
Are you mechanically inclined?

You are going to have to look at where the drive motor attaches to the drive shaft tube/gear. Most have a shear pin (roll pin) that attaches the motor to the shaft tube or gear. Sounds like it has sheared.
Some slides have gear boxes.
If you can post a photo of your slide mechanism it may help us help you.
While similar in function, they are all slightly different.

Looks like the motor/gearbox has come loose from the tube that houses lead screw . The cast aluminum housing that slides over that steel tubing has a hole that lines up with a hole in tubing . It must have had a very short bolt that holds everything in place , but it could only go past tubing wall thickness or it would interfear with the lead screw . Looks like the cast aluminum was threaded up may be wallered out . I havent droped motor assemblies out yet to see !

Fixed thanks for the help guys , turns out the tubing has threads and I had a few 3/8 self threading bolts that matched the threads ! I believe that's what it had ,anyway that's what I used with plenty of loc-title back in business!
