Schwintek - outside wall set screw
Hello,
My schwintek slide on a 2012 Sunseeker stopped working. Found out it was one of the motors. I took both of them out after watching a few YouTube videos. The new motor came in, I set them both I place, but where does the outside set screw fit in the motor??? I screwed both screws in, but the top of the motor and wires turn. It does not lock the top of the motor in place. Help please. Thank you

I've had no issues with mine so far (knock on wood). Good luck.

The set screw screws into the ventilation slots on the motor. It's purpose is to just stop the motor from rotating.

I wouldn't Dimitri. If there are instructions, I'd follow them. So there are no vent slots on the motor housing? There must be a way to anchor that motor in. It would be a useless motor it one couldn't. Perhaps call the company's help line.

I was able to open the link. I'm using Firefox on a Win10 laptop. I also periodically update the browser PDF viewer...

Had the same issue last summer. Find the vent slot under the plastic that they covered it with. Make sure that the motor is fully seated and run the screw into the vent slot.

OK, so I tried it again and it opened this time. Weird.

What stops the motor from turning is getting the 4 bolts on the bottom of the motor down in the 4 holes they fit in. The set screw simply pushes against the side of the motor. You have to spin the motor( I did it by getting the shaft engaged then pryin the motor around by putting a screwdriver between the bolts and spinning the motor until the bolts line up with the holes below the motor and then carefully prying the motor downward using the screwdriver against a thin sheet of metal to keep from damaging the top of the motor). Their video is a complete joke. The motor will only drop in easily if the shaft is in exactly the same position as it was when it was pulled out. They don't show putting a different motor in with the shaft in a different position in the rotation. The new rubber sheath they put on does help protect the upper housing that covers the wiring and they improved the protection for the wiring. My old motor broke off two wires and almost broke off two more. I was able to get them soldered back on so now have a new motor to carry around for a spare. The rubber housing makes it a royal pain to slide the motor down into position as it does not want to slide, perhaps a lttle silicone spray on the rubber would help. When I had the same spinning problem you had I looked at the good motor on the other end and realized the motor has to sit down with those 4 bolts in the 4 holes in the plate under them. I hope this helps. If i did not make something clear let me know.
