I hold the button as you indicated. I've opened my slide over 50 times during the last couple of years with no problems.

Yep... I hold mine for a 3-4 seconds each time. My dealer didn't tell me but I found those instructions on YouTube.
The question I have is how do you guys silicone the inside rubber seals? Only way I see to reach them is to run the slide out almost the whole way and stop? From what I understand, that's bad?

My dealer did not understand the Schwintek slides either. But then they spent 2 hours trying to fix a leaking sink drain.

Well I have 2 of these type slides, one in bedroom and one for the kitchen. No issues yet so far and I've opened and closed mine at least 50 plus times. I didn't know about having to hold the button for 2 to 3 sec. after fully opened or fully closed so I've just been letting off the button after it stops hope I haven't caused damage to either slide. I also have the other type shaft driven slide on the long living room that when fully opened pops or clicks and does the same popping or clicking when fully closed, I've heard this is normal but I really don't know. I hope it's a normal clicking sound. If anyone knows for sure that the clicking or popping sound is normal when fully opened or fully closed please let know so I can be at ease with it. Thanks

I have two of the schwintek slides. So far no problems. I have never held the button and numerous times I have stopped mid way in both directions without issues. Knock on wood

It's a normal sound just release when you here it. It is the clutch. If you do not have to hold your button for 2 or 3 seconds then your slides are in sync. That procedure is to but them in sync. Enjoy your camper and safe travels....

You'll have two "tracks" on the side of your slide that look like this...

Thanks, I've been searching every way I can think of to see what slides I have.

Based on pics of my slides I guess they aren't Schwintek. Not that that means no trouble I guess, it is still a mechanical device that can fail.
