Slide fuse keeps blowing
2017 27RKSS has now blown its second 30 amp fuse when I pull in the slide. This circuit also controls the stabilizers and the awning. I'm not sure about the first time it blew but this last time today, I know I wasn't plugged in to shore power. It is also a PIA to change the fuse since the panel is behind the slide when it is in. Am I not supposed to run the slide on battery power? Anyone else experience this?

YES!! Went through 4 fuses and had the same issues. We had to drive back to dealer and had the slide adjusted. Since then, no problem.

While the dealer happily and successfully fixed a few bugs in the Salem, he was not able to get the fuse to blow. The old, "If it ain't broke, can't fix it" line appeared. It has not blown for us on our last trip either. We'll see, I guess.

I really dislike it when an inanimate object makes me look silly that way.
I take it you know how it get it in/out manually?

I do know about manual operation of the slide. Would rather replace the fuse tho. And no, not running anything else at the same time.

On my unit, in the step well outside, is a place to insert a factory supplied crank to either extend or retract slide.......kinda looks like a pickup truck spare tire under the bed thing. I converted my slide to a rf controller, so that I can be outside to watch operation.....$35.00

Just a thought, the dealer probably had it parked nice and level, whereas you might have been at a "real" site where it was not so much.
Certainly, the frame / shape of opening will distort, even if only slightly, depending on angle parked at, whether chassis is "level" etc.
The extra torque required in the non-optimal position, would increase the current drawn by the motor(s) and could pop the fuse.
Our slide and awning are both "sensitive" to just this effect, can hear clear difference in how hard the motors are working, depending if jacks are down and "level" or we are just sitting on the tires/suspension.

I'm with @Jeff_and_Abby. If the slide binds, the fuse pops as the current draw rises to fight against the binding.
I had something fall down off the lavatory sink that caused the slide to bind. Fuse. Blown.

Well, l'm pretty sure the fuse isn't blowing due to binding since I just tore off a cabinet door sliding it out!!!
Two holes poked in the wall. I can't believe this! Think I can get matching wall covering from FR? I was outside with the slide remote making sure I didn't run the slide into a tree.

The latches on my drawers and cabinets are adjustable for tension...check yours, as I had one door that dis that...

I'm not sure that binding doesn't provide more resistance than those cabinet doors.

Sure...a pocket hole, using a fixture, is drilled with a special bit, to a set distance determined by the wood thickness, on the backside of door outer frame work, called styles and sills, and a special screw is used ....most modern cabs are put together this way....I'll post a pic.....If you'd like to do your repair, HD or Lowe's , have an inexpensive alum jig with instructions....

One more thing...if you find a moulding that is a little fancy, using a pin nailer, you'll never see the pins (fine finish nails) installed at an angle verses straight in
