slide in switch won't work

Hello I have a 2012 FR 29bh patriot. It's brand new as of a month ago I purchased it. I taken out twice now and this past weekend when I went to pack things up the slide would not go back in by using the switch inside the camper but it will work with the remote the camper came with. Can any one tell me if the switch inside went bad or has a malfunction between the remote and switch. Thanks

Short answer as to "Can any one tell me if the switch inside went bad or has a malfunction between the remote and switch.", NO. Nobody can troubleshoot an electrical problem of any kind over the internet. Voltage test must be made..........

Since your remote works the slide, it's not a fuse or the motor, or much of the wiring. Could be the wiring at the switch, or problem between the switch and relays........
Too much to guess, and if you don't have a meter, you are just going to start spending money on parts you don't need, or as I like to say, "going to fire the parts canon till I fix it".

Since it is new, should still have warranty, why not take it back?

I had a similar problem on my camper last fall. Only it wouldn't work with the remote either. I had forgotten to turn the battery disconnect switch 'on', so the battery wasn't charging from park power. Apparently, the hydraulic pump for the slides won't run once the battery gets low. (I would have thought anything would run with it plugged into park power.) Luckily, my dealer service department was open to kindly tell me what a dolt I am.

I know this isn't directly related to your problem, but just something to watch for.

check the connections on the switch - if you have a meter you can check to see if you have a bad switch by ohming out the switch - just make sure to disconnect both connections before ohming the switch.

could be a bad crimped wire as well - I have found whom ever crimps the ends of the wire uses a sub par crimper tool on some of the connections.

We use a Klein tool and it crimps better then those electrical crimpers that dont crimp for crap

Battery at full charge 13.6 on meter, remote works the slide, yesterday slide switch would move slideout a foot then quit, wait a minute and would start again. Today it won't work at all.

sounds like a bad connection between switch and motor, or switch and ground.

Caddisfly the problem with my slide was the connections were lose on back of switch not making contact all the time made them tighter and it has has worked fine since. At first I check them and thought they were tight enough but then i checked for the fuse it was good. Then power to switch it was their.I took swich off and metered to see if was working both ways and was fine then just happened when i put it back together it worked so i wiggled wires while running switch it would start stop. thats how I found the problem

Forgot to say how problem was fixed. After talking with Lippert rep for 2hrs found out some dummy at factory wired the remote module wrong and was putting continued current thru relays and burnt them out.

Sweet!

Be sure to send a bill for your time to the factory.
I bill at $200 an hour, one hour minimum.
Please remit promptly!
