Slide needs a push

I have a 35' 2002 Reflection with a large living room slide. The slide extends just great but, I need to have someone outside give a push before it will retract. I think I hear a "click" when it reaches full extension. Is there a safety lock I don't know about. Once started, it retracts, but not a smoothly as it extends. Thanks for any help.

I would have it checked... something does not seem right. I'm not aware of any safety locks on extension and I have owned several different RV brands with slides.

The potential of doing some real damage and the cost to have that damage repaired to me is just not worth it.

Had to take the bedroom slide apart on my 340rk. DW extended on first night of Vacation .. Went to bring in and just heard the motor running..

Needless to say underneath the bed I removed two bolts and brought the slide in manually and secured it for the for the drive from Nashville to Florida..

Push the slide out and will worry about it when back from Vacation..

Slide out

We have sheared a number of bolts a number of times accidentally. We have had to manually push the slide out and in until repaired. We were grateful we could do that. We do have a locking bar that fits over the top of the slide out when it is in and we now use it while en route just for safety. It certainly gave us peace of mind when the bolts were sheared off.

Slides are always a concern. The slide on our Sunseeker at the dining area makes a clicking sound at times when its at the end of its travel. So one has to be careful to get your finger off of the switch so not to hear this not so good sound. sounds like its a sort of slip clutch but other than that it works fine with no issues.
Has anyone else experienced this noise at the end of travel ? and do you think its doing any damage.?

I was told to extend my slides until I heard that noise and it won't hurt anything. It just means it's all the way out.

All 3 of my slides make that clicking noise at both ends of their travel... I try not to hear more than 2 clicks at the end.. I'm hoping that it's not causing any damage..

Our Rockwood Ultralite and our 2015 Windjammer both had slides that made the clicking noise when fully extended and retracted. 2 dealers told us this is normal. In fact, one time when the Ultralite's slide wouldn't open, I was told it was because we had not retracted it enough to reset the switch. This is the noise we hear. From then on we extended and retracted until we heard two or three clicks. Haven't had a problem again. And I know I shouldn't say that....
