Slide out comes out when driving.

First time in about 10000 miles, drove 200 miles and when I got to my destination the kitchen slide on the Sandpiper 30IOK was out 3".

When I got everything level and stabilizers down, the slid came in no issue, went back out no issue, came back in, I pushed on it, no issue, put it back out and.....no issue.

Thoughts?

Still under warranty and not taking it back for a week of something they cannot diagnose.

Drove back and no issues, checked it out with the dealer and nothing found. Wait and see I guess.

Some units come with a bar or rod to lock the slide from creeping, don't know if yours came with it or not, but something to look into.

Would help to know type of operation, hydraulic, motor cable, or external gear etc. A well cut 2 x4 will keep any slide "in" till removed.

Per the dealer there are no locking bars on these units.

They are hydraulic slides on the unit, three slides in total. In the sequence of slides that come out it is the second slide.

Can you tell me more about this well cut 2x4?

Sure most slides don't have bars furnished by the mfg. They have confidence they won't open in error. But they sometimes do. Yours sound like a leaking valve in the hyd. system. A 2 x4 cut to length between the wall slide metal frame and the flange of the slide while fully in will lock the slide from moving outward, guaranteed. Measured between 12"-18" based on your design. System should be fixed but wood "spacer" will work.

I would be real careful with the 2X4 as it could tear or rip the inside seal, if you go this route I suggest you cover the ends with carpet or something soft.

IMO you need to get the hydraulic system looked at by someone who does hydraulic systems not the dealer.
