Slide Out Gasket

I have a FR SS 3170DS, recently following a very heavy rain, we found some water inside the coach under the bunk which is contained within the slide.
Looking around the slide we found that the gasket on top of the slide was not lying down correctly. Using a long dowel I was able to "unroll" the gasket, allowing it to lie flat against the slide top. Attached is a photo with the gasket rolled under.

Is there a fix for this problem or is a bit of water expected (I hope not.) Thanks.

As far as the gasket, I'd get some baby power on it or better yet some silicone spray to keep it soft and slippery so it does not get bound up and pulled in like that. Use a broom stick and an old sock to soak the spray on and rub on the seal.

As far as the water, I would think the slide topper would keep the water away unless it was driving. I's check the sealing along the top of the slide topper to make sure it is not leaking. I also recently got some water in my slide and discovered the top of the gasket was not sealed well anymore and the water was coming in behind the seal not from the front where your folder part is. I DID NOT have a slide topper though.

EDIT: Might also clean the roof to make sure it is not "gabbing" the gasket.

Ok. we had bought a 8' wash pole that extends to 12' at Home Depot to wash the RV. I duck taped a sock to the end. Up on a ladder, I lifted the gasket and sprinkled a fair amount of baby powder under the gasket. I then ran the sock under the gasket, using the pole to spread the baby powder between the top of the slide and the bottom of the gasket the length of the slide. I repeated this to ensure coverage.

I also baby powdered the rest of the gasket where it makes contact with the slide when closed. We'll see how it works, so far so good. A neighbor walking by said the Coach smelled nice...

Do not forget the inside seal along the inner edge as well (it is the part that touches the inside wall of your trailer. Keeps things from sticking. I typically use the silicone outside since it stays longer and the baby power inside so not to poison the evil cat... But in the pinch the baby power keeps things slick.

As well, never open the slide if below freezing. Any moisture on the seal will be frozen, causing seals to stick together. Opening the slide will tear the seals. As noted above, you can buy a can of spray silicone and soak down the seals to reduce deformation and sticking.
