Slide out question

I have a 2011 Wildwood and the slide out will sometimes get stuck when running it in. Its like the weather seal is sticking. Is there something to lubricate these?

Thanks
Daniel

Daniel:

If it's a long vertical blade seal either on the underside or topside of the slide-out, you can hand-rub powdered graphite onto the surface of the slide, or use a srpay-on molybdenum disulphide luricant that dries.

I have an on-going problem with the underside seal on the bedroom of my MH and the moly spray is one of this off-season's projects. I'll be doing it to both top and bottom blade seals on both slides.

If it attracts dirt or can attract dirt, avoid it like the plague. There are many dry lube available for rubber seals. Personally I use ProtectAll to both clean and lubricate my seals. I do use a dry type lube on all of the slide mechanism I can see or reach.

Totally agree. Dry lube on anything metal that moves. Stuff collects dirt and mud as it is, no sense "welcoming it aboard!"

Silicon spray on anything else.

Pure silicon spray will not protect or lubricate the metal of the steps, slide bars, and rollers for more than one or two activations. Dry lube stays on the surface of the metal but does not attract dirt.

Silicon works great for lock mechanisms, hinges, drawer glides, and slide seals.

Lou - Don,

What dry lube have you found to be affective? I hear a lot about dry lubes specifically for the trailer market but my guess is others will work fine.

Cheers

Just Google "Dry Lube for Slides" and you will get a number of good hits from Discounters like RVWholesalers. Any "Dry Lube" in a spray can will work. NOT Oil or Silicon for slide mechanisms though.
