Question, I have a 2003 Ceader Creek fifth wheel with three slides. I have noticed that one slide has seals that are splitting in the corner about 3 inches. Iwant to replace these before any damages occur. Is their a online tech manual for this type of repair or words of wisdom from others experianced with this type of repair. Also can the seal material be purchased by the roll ect. New member, Wickerman
Well first off to FRF.
Replacing slide-out seals is a very involved job. Most likely best to let the professionals handle it due to alignments and the overall size of the project. If not done properly it may end up needing to be done again and worse if the alignment causes damage to the mechanical components. This all depends on which seal is the problem. The bottom seal is the most involved.
There are three parts to most seals (of course, now that I've said that someone will correct me ). The inside seal that seals when the slide is out, the outside seal that seals when the slide is in and the wipers that clear water and debris off when the slide in moving. Which part of yours is having a problem?

Not that I have had to do it yet but one of the wipers on our slide was coming off when we open or closed the slide. The wipers on ours simply push on over a lip that runs around the entire slide opening and was easy to just push back on. I used just a bit of silicone inside the pocket of the wiper before I pushed it back onto the lip so that it would stay put in the future. The other two types of seals as Bama said, inside and outside look to be simple seals that have double back tape on them and just stick in place. I wouldn't think that replacing those would be hard either. The only one that looks hard is the one attached behind the inner wood trim work of the slide that is about a 3" wide, white seal. Don't know exactly how that one is installed. As Bama said though it would help to know exactly which seal you need to replace.

Thanks for the responce I will take a couple of digital photos the next time I access the unit in a few weeks. From the responce I think it would be concidered a wiper seal as it is external. When the slide operates it actuallw wips debri as the slide extends and retracts. Thank you all for the quick responce and advice. Wickerman
