If you do have the Schwintek slide mechanism, your motors are NOT located below the slide. They are 2 very thin electric motors located in the upper wall on each side of the slide box. Then there are 2 long shafts running down the wall with gears that engage the aluminum gear tracks attached to each side of the slide box walls.
The "bulge" that I see in the underskin is concerning though. Under that skin should only be part of the frame and reinforcing for the floor above and the fifth wheel pin box. Whatever appears to have "broken loose" under there needs to be addressed. It could be causing the floor/wall under the slide to bind under the slide box as you suspect but, it is not due to any part of the slides movement mechanism. Only removing the underskin for a more detailed inspection and pics will yield more help from fellow readers.
