slide plates on schwintek slide out

just curious. has anyone installed the metal slide out plates on a slide with the schwintek in wall motors. any feedback or comments would be appreciated.

Yes I have. I have taken the whole system off and replaced. What do you need to know?

Does the thickness of the plates themselves affect the interface of the motor and the gear on the side of the slide.

Yes it does. Are you thinking of changing what the rail material is made of?

I am concerned that by installing the metal plates which are about 1/8" thick it could damage the slide gear rails. Or is 1/8" not enough to make a difference.

Can you explain what you mean when you say side plates? I want to make sure we are thinking of the same part. A picture would even be better

The aluminum plates that would be attached to the bottom of the slide on top of the rollers

Okay now I know what you mean. Yes it might affect it. There is some play in the system but it could affect it. This system comes pre assembled and is screwed to the slide and then screwed to the trailer. Any variation up down and or left right after slide is installed could misalign the track.

I was thinking of using just some 18ga steel because its thinner. That black plastic on the bottom of the slide is already wearing out.
