slideout not working/now working

The day before we were to leave on a one month trip, our main slideout on our 2016 Rockwood 8280ws stopped working. Checked fuses but still nothing.
We found the manual slide operation and decided to go ahead with our trip using our power drill to manually operate slide.
Every time we stopped for the night, we tried the button and still nothing.
Reached our destination four days later, and voila! the button worked and we have no idea why?
Anybody have any ideas why it would stop and then start again - short circuit in motor?
Husband checked for loose wires and non were evident from a visual.

About the only thing I can think of other than a loose connection somewhere (which you said you checked) would not be a short circuit in the motor but a stuck brush in the slide actuator motor.

Mine stuck last time out and it took forever for the motor to start working on slide #2. It's been in driveway since, slides out.........but I hook up tomorrow for trip, and hope they'll go in ok.

I emailed Lippert but their answer made no sense. I've had several suggestions........but none of them have panned out. But for some reason, this problem seems common.

Have you checked your fluid level?

Ours is electric, not hydraulic. It is continuing to work. Fingers crossed it lasts till we get home and then we will bring it in to have someone check it out.

My Battery had to be replaced

I had a bad breaker...Would not reset. But...I also had a bad battery. I replaced it and everything worked like a champ. I bet when you had a good shore power charge, your battery had enough juice to operate everything. My Wildwood 28DBUD is operated by battery, so the battery must have a full charge. Hope this helps!

Last two trips we lost all 12v power in camper that mysteriously would repair it's self. After last trip, I started at battery nd cleaned and tightened all connections. Problem solved. Ground wire to frame dirty.
