Solera Slide Cover Problem

Howdy,

I've had this problem since new on the big slide on my Forester. The "polycord" that attaches the slide cover fabric to the drum is working its way out.

Lippert suggested removing the fabric completely and reinserting the polycord.

Has anyone made this fix before & have some tips?

Is there a way to prevent it from happening again?

You can take the tension off the roller and try to push the cord back into the track or remove the fabric and reinsert the cord/fabric then put zip screw in the channel (not thru the fabric or cord) on both sides which should stop the cord from moving.

Thanks, I'll take a look at that when we get home.

This is our 2nd RV with covers and I had not seen this before. The other slide is A-OK.

My regular awning does it too. I think it has to do with the heating and contacting. One end has a screw in it. I've pushed it back in 20 times. I can't an exact match screw. Last time I did it, I pushed a stick in the slot. Hasn't come out yet....
