Tumbling rock sound coming from slide topper tube.

Today when I was closing my slide out I notice a sound that sound like rocks inside my slide out topper tube. Everything works but just that noise. Any suggestions.

Some small part broke and is rolling around, or whoever assembled it at the slide topper factory tossed in some spare parts because it was the last one of his shift and he didn't want to take the time to put them back in the part bin. I would bet on the first one.

You have mud daubers in your area, I bet. I'm guessing one/some of those built a nest in your tube and it has come loose. My 2.

I'm not sure there is a large enough hole in the end caps for mud daubers to get in. On my slide toppers there is a hole on each end for a 1/16 inch cotter pin to fit in to lock the springs.
