Is it better to leave slides out or in when storing outside for a month at a time

Why would out be better, when it's in storage?

It gives more opportunity for insects, rodents, rain and dirt to enter the RV.

kinda 50/50. my slide is out 4 months at a time while we are in it for the summer.

Even with it just parked in my driveway I find that I'm going into my TT enough to warrant leaving the slide out extended. Sometimes it's a month or more between camping trips. I do leave it closed when I store it for the winter.

If you don't spend any time inside of it when stored, I'd say closed.
Less weather/UV damage to slide roof/topper.

If you constantly enter the rig and have to open and then close them, better out.

Depends on what you mean my 'storing'. In a seasonal lot, probably out. In a storage lot, probably in. In your driveway/property, your own preference, depending on whether or not the slide(s) will be in the way, whether or not they might take damage from things like a falling limb from a tree overhead, whether or not you need access to the trailer, etc....
