where is the slide crank

Just bought an almost new 2012 Coachman Catalina 29 RLS and the previous ownwer did not know how to manually crank in the slide. I have looked every where and I cannot find it. I have spent several days going thru all the systems so I know how they work but this is baffling. I removed the couch looked in all the storage compartments and can find nothing. I was also told I has a gas only water heater. Just discovered it is 110 or gas an automatic 110 with the breaker on.
tks

You should find a long crank some where, you install the crank at the opposite slide, should be a whole in the skirt to do it. Some have a little flex rod about 12' long depending on what slide you have and hook it on a drill. That's the general way to do it. Look up your slide on Y tube or LCI web site. It should show you how to do it and also how to adjust it.

You may not have a crank to move the room in. I just bought a 2014 Wildwood and the dealer told me all about a crank. Come to find out my system is run by two motors. To push the run in or out without power the slide controller (under the bathroom sink) is disconnected. The motors are then raised off the track and the room goes in. Then you need to fix the room using adjustable room locks for the ride to a dealer.

Just so you know I searched for almost two weeks for that magic crank location.

I have still found nothing, looked everywhere. Guess I will call Coachman and find where this magic hole is. I have no long crank handle and the previous owner did not know. I do know thw motor and hyd ram are inside the floor which is sealed from the bottom. I am still hopeing someone wuth the same RV chimes in. It would be nice to have another owner to talk about the problems and good points about the same RV.

The on-line pictures show it to be an electric, through the frame slide. There should a manual drive attachment on the side opposite of the slide, in line with the drive actuator. Here's a copy on the manual... http://www.lippertcomponents.com/ima...ideout-web.pdf

if this is what you wanted, you should've posted it in the Wildwood sub-forum, instead of the General Tech section.
a mod can move it for you.

Tks,
Now that I know it is a Lippert I will look on the otherside frame when I get home today. I printed out that manuel to add to my data sheets.

Note,on (Some) manual override slides, the (Slip clutch?) is overridden and when the (Crank) is used the Slide trim can be Damaged if Crank is used beyond (Normal) slide distance. Youroo!!

Went home and looked at the other side rail and did find the crank for the slide. The on line instruction says to make sure the battery is disconnected to keep from getting an electrical feed back when you use the manuel crank. I ran the slide in and out several times and it seems now that the slide needs to be adjusted. I noticed when the slide goes full out it stops but the bottom moves out maybe another 1 inch. When fully closed the bottom has a wider gap than the top against the seals.

The motion you describe is normal...when in motion, the top stops first then bottom continues until it's seated, whether the slide is going in or out.

If the bottom still has a gap when closed, the stop can needs to be adjusted as described in the manual.

How they check your seal is that they put a piece of paper between the gasket and body, if it will hold it is tight enough.
