Wimpy slide-out motor

I have a 2601 2006 Rockwood with super slide. Everything was working fine with the slide until all of a sudden one day it only would go part way out. I got the hand crank out and couldn't budge it. The only way I could get it out was push on it by hand along with the electric help. I had it on full shore power at the time. The same was true with getting it back in. I checked the dealer and he said that sometimes the motors just get weak. Somehow I find that hard to believe. Has anyone had any experience with anything like this?Click image for larger version

Most of the time it's not the motor getting weak, but the gearbox or even the slide mechanism binding. Of course since they replace the motor and gearbox as a unit and not just the motor it fixes the problem.
