Try this. I welded one on my camper.

I have a 2013 Cedar Creek 34RLSA with the 1 1/4" receiver. Hauled two bikes from Arkansas to Florida using a Yakima 4 bike carrier. Had a driver flag me down in Jackson, MS. My bikes were bouncing around and hitting the rear cap (no major damage but scratches on the decals. I had the bikes securely fastened to the carrier, but the carrier was moving enough to allow the bikes to hit the rear. I added a rope to pull the carrier toward the ladder which took some of the movement out, but in checking the bikes several more times down the road found they were still bouncing out of the rubber holders on the carrier. Ended up adding additional rope to tie the bikes more securely. On returning from this trip, installed a front receiver on my truck - no more movement or bouncing and I can keep an eye on the too. Only downside is they pick up more bugs!

My Wildcat came with an 1 1/4 reciever too. It worked but I never liked the flex so I cut it off and added my own 4x4x.25" square tubing with 3 2" receivers. Now I can pull my golf car trailer or build any other accessory rack in the future. As long as you only use it for a bike rack, the frame manufacturer may permit a qualified fabricator to change it without voiding the warranty. (Get the authorization in writing)

What about the bikes? Simple, I built a 2" reciever on my airride pin box. I use a tilting/folding 4 bike Thule rack that I found on sale @ Dicks Sporting goods. The bikes don't move, they're always in sight, and are more deterrent to theft. Also, the Thule rack comes with an adapter on it for the 2". The shank is actually 1.25" so it could be used in your stock hitch.

2 yrs goes FAST

You can always wait and MODIFY after the warranty period ( generally 2 years).
Like that pin box hitch. Saw a couple of them 2 yrs ago in Myrtle Beach SC.
At my age would have to solicit help to bench press them up there 😩.
There was a day, BUT, that day was yesterday 😳

On my 2015 Cedar Creek the hitch is rated for 50lb It's coming off. I plan to install a sliding carrier. I don't plan on carrying anything on it, I just plan to sit my generator on it when I dry camp. I can't get DW on a bicycle.

ID:	99757 As my bike is a fold down and in a bag and thought I could carry the 2000 yamaha generator in it when needed, I guess my concern is the twisting motion because nothing secures the ends.

What I'm looking at is something that slides under the camper that's attached to the frame at the rear of camper. That way it's out of view for the most part

I had that on my 2010, 318SAB Cougar. I used this once to carry my bikes on it . Never again the bikes were scratched and bounced around a lot. The sliding rack over time bent one of the retaining supports. This was one feature I never ever wanted again.

Just do a free body diagram place a load about 15 feet from the rear axle and 3 feet off of the ground, see what force are in play here. Unless your frame is really beefed up I can see cracking and damage to the tubing of the frame over time. Due to the loading that will be applied by this moment arm. Just my humble opinion as a retired engineer who design frames.

I can't see a problem because nothing will be on it riding down the road. There is a spare tire under the frame too and it doesn't bounce around

Now that looks great for stopping the bounce. Thanks for sharing that. This forum is great.

Sway Stopper

I saw this at an RV show, really a neat idea that really does work. Not much to it for someone that knows how to "tinker" with metal.

There's a few bike racks on the market, like the Thule I use shown above, that has a threaded pin that pulls the shank tight so there's no wobble.
