1st Trip

This coming Sunday, we will be setting up in a local campground for the first trip. Question I have when I hook up to city water, is there anything I have to do as far as the residential refridgerator (Whirlpool)? Do I put the filter in, or run it first with the by-pass plug in? Also as far as the ondemand hot water, does anyone have a pic of the way the valves should be turn to have hot water, I'm assuming that the water heater is in bypass, for the winterization.
I'll take a pic tonight, of the valves for the hot water, and see if I can post on here. Thanks

Do you have an on demand water heater or do you have a standard tank water heater? Apples and oranges. I believe there may be no winterization (by-pass) valves associated with the on demand system. If you have the tank system turn the 2 valve handles in the water lines going to the water heater so they are in-line with the lines and turn the valve handle in the line that goes between the 2 water heater lines perpendicular to the line. Your set.

I'm sorry I forgot to mention we have the on-demand system

You did mention it but you also mentioned by-pass valves for winterization and I haven't seen any reference on this forum for by-pass valves associated with the on-demand system. There may be and someone with knowledge of this type system should chime in.

Ya guess I did, but I agree I don't really see a reson to bypass the on-demand

Here's a discussion of an on-demand water heater with no hot water due to being left in winterization bypass mode. Also it has a drain valve. On-demand doesn't mean the hot water heater doesn't hold water in a small tank. For that small tank, bypass keeps the antifreeze out for taste and smell, also it's not needed because the tank can and should be drained.

No hot water

well we are on the trip, camping about 8 miles from home. Everything is going good, hot water, refridge working, making ice. Thanks

That's a nice valve system and easy to get to. Mine is a pain to get to behind the pass thru storage. I have to remove a wall. Why can't they all be made this like?
