2015 38FL CC Fridge

Saw a recently built CC 38FL - they basically have just put the fridge down on the floor of the slide out without any cab box around it. While it looks like it has slightly more room around the dinning table, several of the changes including this one seem to be reducing the overall finish and possibly the value to the CC lines... ??

This is our first CC, so I'm not familiar with earlier models. Our 38FL has a residential sized fridge, with an inverter, no propane. My understanding the fridge runs off battery power until you hook back up again (I'm told it's suppose to run up to three days, waits to be seen.) I'm a big guy so I love the extra room around the table. One of the major factors in selecting the CC. Unfortunately I can tell you the design to secure the fridge doors is extremely poor. On our first trip the door opened and we had a mess. The knob used to secure the doors was too small and useless. To prevent this from reoccurring, I placed a large washer around the knob covering more of the doors. So far so good.

We have the residential in our CC38FL as well, and the security knob is currently stowed in the forward storage area. We used clear Velcro on the door and side and then use a large piece of Velcro and this has worked out great. Simple and cheap. I will take a picture and post.

Our residential fridge is built in to a cabinet.

How is the entire fridge ( not just the doors ) secured to restrict movement during travel without the surrounding cabinet?

We have run our residential fridge for 3 days without any problems, hoping to add solar next year

Too bad they can't figure out a way to add an island like the new Jayco Pinnacle 38FLSA.

We have the exact same refrigerator, cabinet and all. I see what you mean with the double door, freezer on the bottom, type fridge. I agree some cabinetry would make it look finished.

From the picture, it "appears" more spacious without the enclosure. It also looks like a "French door" type reefer. We kinda like the richness of the wood.

The Fridge on the 2015 is kept in with A piece of wood 1/4 Rd at the bottom in the front.
Speaking from experience, Our fridge came out of the cabinet in our 2013 38FL on our first trip out.
It is secured in there now with A 6" long bracket at the top.
Hopefully that piece of 1/4 rd holds the fridge.
We added velcro to hold the doors also.
