Has anyone added a patio awning to the 12' slide if so is the topper hardware in the way???????
Trying to get some protection for the 2 big windows in the afternoon sun

Just like your approach to your water filter, it appears that your looking at an "overkill" approach to a common problem.
You might want to look at:
Velcro/Snap on exterior sun screens
Window awnings (I used Carefree of Colorado)
Interior reflective tinting or pull down roller sun screens.
Just my opine...

Evidently you haven't tried to dump this filter located behind slide pump pluming in the poring down rain.

I bought window awnings for the last 12FT slide and the patio uou can sit under and cost very little more

No, I have never done a filter "dump" in the pouring down rain or any other time. Enjoy your patio awning. Please be sure to post pics of the install.
