2016 Silverback 31RK
Picked our camper up the end of June, first time out one of the windows came loose from the hinge, luckily we were at the campground. Don't understand why the need 2 emergency windows right next to each other on the opposite side of the door, still waiting for new window to come in, seems strange that we have to wait this long. The duct tape holding window in place has to keep being replaced, doesn't make cedar creek or dealer look good at campgrounds with tape holding a window on. Another thing not happy with is the vent from one of the tanks that comes out the roof is next to the fresh air vent in the bathroom, so if we don't have the fan running we get smells in through the vent . And why did they go away with the ceiling fans, this will be the last camper we order without seeing first the brochure that we were showed was of the 2015 models and that they were the same but i am sure that the 15's had the ceiling fan, don't like the fact that we can't get to the fridge without opening the slides or climbing over chairs. Just a note for all to see the camper in real time and not just from brochures you can miss so many things like we did.

No..the 2015's didn't have ceiling fans either. We looked at ours on the lot and didn't realize it didn't have a ceiling fan till we were home sitting in it..lol lol..guess I just assumed it would have one lol... And I think the majority of new trailers out there you can't get to your frig without opening a slide.

we have the 2015 31RK and our's has the ceiling fan and it is something I might always require if we ever get another 5th. Getting service support from dealer is terrible here, but we have had good response from Forest River service support when we talked to them. They were very quick to respond to our needs.
When we bring in our slides, I move the dinette chair closes to the counter and put it in the middle between sofa/recliner chair, so that I can wiggle in between to get to the fridge when we are traveling and stop to eat at rest stop.
good luck with getting it fixed.

Why not push the rocker and open it a little?

The ceiling fan must be part of an option package. My 2015 29IK has the ceiling fan. Purchased off the lot.

Funny thing, our dealer said the fan was not an option of the Silverbacks, only on the Cedar Creeks. He also told us some other things that turned out to be "untrue". We sure miss a fan.

I have a 2016 31RK Silverback. Ceiling fan was not an option, would love to add one. No issue with vent/smell you mentioned.
Some minor issues but very happy with purchase. Biggest issues to date: doors on cabinets opening in transit, watch carefully before you open slides, auto leveler is problematic (Lippert is like a government lowest bidder), residential fridge is GREAT after I added two golf car batteries to run the inverter while we were underway. Hardly ever use propane because fireplace space heater and electric hot water heater option and res fridge mean propane is for cooking only. Could have gotten by with a single tank.
Love the king bed upgrade and Combo W/D installed in the forward closet. I also added a 120v LED light above the entertainment cabinet ( from Costco) just plugs in behind tv and routed wires up through small holes drilled in cabinet came with a remote control. Replaced light fixture over sink with a $40 LED fixture from CW for much more light for meal prep. Well received by DW. Threw 'Trump' bedspread and faux pillows away. Obviously that pimp wouldn't sleep with that polyester stuff either but he would put his name on it. I like a good down pillow and comforter not plastic.

Have a 2014 31RK. Yes you have to watch the doors opening when moving. Ripped a bottom door under the sink off Sunday when opening slide out. We do have a ceiling fan. Have had many problems with everything but finally right now everything works.

Ceiling fans, 7000# axles, and remote for hydraulic functions are all available on Silverbacks ... you just have to order them and of course pay the money. If the dealer says otherwise, they don't have much enthusiasm for a buyer. If the dealer is clueless, get ahold of the district sales rep and get a quote.

I asked my dealer about the ceiling fans at a show this year. The explanation was that the cathedral ceiling slide outs would interfere with the fan blades when closing the slides.
I looked at a 5th wheel from SOB and they had a ceiling fan with the cathedral ceiling slides but the blades were very short. So short they seemed like they wouldn't move much air.

That was some pretty quick thinking for his answer. My 33IK only has the cathedral ceilings on the curbside and bedroom slides. The ceiling fan is placed pretty far back so it is way into the sloping part of the cathedral ceiling. My fan is what I describe as normal sized and it moves the air.

I was in a trailer with a cathedral ceiling slide in the living area and it did look to me like the height of the cathedral slide ceiling would require short blades on the fan in the living area for the slide not to hit them when it was retracted but I didn't measure it.
Same thing with the one we went in that had a cathedral ceiling in the bedroom slide.

My fiver has the quiet cool A/C so there is no ceiling return vent in the middle. I reckon this allows the fan to be mounted a bit farther back. Like said, it still moves the air over the sofa and theater seats to our satisfaction. I'll measure the fan diameter when I get home just for FYI. Bottom line ... wouldn't be without it.
On edit 42" ceiling fan

Our 2014 Silverback 33RL has cathedral ceilings in all 3 slides and we have a ceiling fan(regular size)....I have even forgotten to turn the fan off on occasions, brought the slides in, and never had a clearance issue.....it goes over the top of the slides and keeps right on running.

2014 33rl comparable unit owner?!
Mine is the last 2014 line built and mso'd as a 2015.
No cathedral slide over kitchen side ?? (0n mine) ??
I am positive as I am buying a slide topper soon for that huge flat slide.
Also, we have a rear living ceiling hugger fan and it makes a HUGE difference in moving that air in summer and pushing heat back down in reverse mode in the winter.
There is no room in the slides for a normal ceiling fan.
