32RL cap oxidized

I brought my 32RL last February and the cap is starting to fade. I called Cedar Creek and Jeff had me talk to Denise to get me a new cap. Cedar Creek will put on a new cap at the factory but just one little problem, the appointment date is October 14 2016. Would you wait or try to get Cedar Creek to send the cap to the dealer I brought the camper from. It's a long drive to the factory but I guess they would do the best job. It's not like the cap will leak or anything, the only thing the fade will get worse

I would let the factory do it.

Like you said... It's just faded...

My dealer replaced mine in early November. I didn't want to wait for several months and drive 1200 mile round trip. I was a little skeptical about letting my dealer do this but they said they had replaced several. I will have to say it looks like they did an excellent job.

If it were mine, I would wait and let the factory replace the cap.

I was told most are damaged in shipment so they rather replace them at factory. I wanted a new rear cap for my cardinal and dealer wouldn't do it because it took them 3 trys to get 1 undamaged cap and the shipping costs $500.

I would let the factory do it, they did ours last November while they had it, they went through it said they found the bedroom slide was lose so they fixed it replaced the slide seals, resealed the roof, fix the bathroom door (they didn't like the way it closed) changed some interior trim and they winterized it for me and repainted the back of the unit due to fading also, could not be happier.
We did have to take it over and pick it up, but that was only about 350 miles each way for us

When we took the Cedar Creek tour in 2014, they told us the cap manufacture paint did not have uv protection in the paint so that's why they are prematurity fading and pealing.

32RL cap oxidized

To everyone on the blog. Best wishes for the New Year.
We have a 2014 Silverback rl. Though we don't have the same problem of oxidation, ours have developed a sandy texture. My husband at first thought it was from run off of the roof. But today our RV tech came by. Hubby asked his opinion what it could be, he says it is the clear coat. Has anyone experienced this problem, is it something the manufacture covers? Thanks!!!

She fixed me up after 2nd fade on a 2015.

Get on record with her ASAP so you will be in their issues loop. This stems back to a vendor problem.

The factory is well aware of the potential issues. Pretty confident you will have satisfaction. Just FYI, cap replacement is not complicated...
Pop; unplug LED; plug in new LED; pop on cap; seal and tow baby tow!
( a couple of hours )
I watched my Silverback being done!

Good luck and have FUN in 2016!
