36CKTS

I went looking at new 34RE and what DW fell in love with was the 36CKTS. I told DW that we could get it in about 5 years, DW said what about now, will not the Silverado 3500 pull it. But I don't want to really pull a 40ft camper to Alaska and back. It may be hard to find spots in campgrounds for a 40ft camper

You have been looking at the 36CKTS for years now. If you are going to AK you might want to consider beating the stuffings out of your current unit then trading it in on your 36CKTS.

Just bought a 36CKTS about a month ago, we've put about 1500 miles on it. We've had no issues parking or pulling it. We have a F350 SRW and use the Reese Goose Box.

We had a 37' Travel trailer and it was in my opinion more difficult to pull than the Cedar Creek.

Alaska

We just got back from spending the summer in Alaska with out 36ckts. We never had reservations more than one camp site away and had no issues getting campsites. Only once did we have to delay a day because a caravan was at our next stop. We had no damage. You will find the going is slower and when you see the red flags slow down cause that marks a bump.

Have no fear and have fun!

We have a 2015 CC 36CKTS and love it. In fact we had a 2011 CC CKTS ahead of this one and had zero issues with the earlier unit. We just returned from a 5500 mile spin through the Rockies, Glacier, Custer and had a blast with the new 40' CC.

Life is short! Time passes quickly and the only thing that remains in the memories of the PAST are: Woulda, Coulda, SHOUDA!!
Buy the rig you want and have fun! What the heck are you waiting for?!
Rough road? Slow down. Campsites too small? Find another. Pack a generator and set yourself up so you can sleep with slides IN for problem needed rests.
All problems are resolvable!
GO, ENJOY!!

36CKTS

We too have the 36CKTS, a 2013 that we spend on average 165 day/year in. After pulling her about 55,000 miles with our F350 DRW 4x2 I can state that its a joy to pull, have no issues with length, at least we don't after accepting the fact of almost 60' OAL when hitched. In all this time we have never had any problem finding a site that accommodates our length, though some older parks have some dang narrow interior roads. Love our Creek for sure. We will have spent a total of 166 days RVing across this great nation once 12/31/15 gets here. 2016 watch out, already have 98 days planned for the year, and it ain't even here yet!

We trade our CC 36RE for a 2015 CKTS and love it, never had a problem with any campground thus far except some state parks. We have pulled it to Maine, FL and plain to head to Las Vegas next month.

I wish I had heard all these good comments earlier, I would have already got a 36RE but soon I'll start looking for a 36CKTS. We just don't have that much cabinet space on the 32RL and we may end up with something we had not planned on, a great granddaughter.

Thumbs up

I also have a 2015 36CKTS and love it. Lots of cabinet space. It is long but I have never had a problem finding a campground for it. I always look for a pull through site because I still can't figure how to back it up. I need driving lessons.http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...ies/crying.gif

You need PRACTICE, trial and error to improve backing. 1/2 time DW is my spotter and we communicate quietly via cell phones. The other 1/2 of the time, alone, I use 4 orange caution cones and pace it off. The last cone is at the driver door! That is MAX I can back up. No cameras. No CAMPGROUND HELPERS; turn your wheel this a way; no, the other this a way 😩. Usually I have to exit the truck 2x to assess alignment.
I did learn a few tricks: never use slider unless situation is impossible;
Always remember the 5er only turns when it has slow steady momentum; simple steering is better than aggressive; shut off your trailer brakes when backing. You do not need them.
Try to practice when you can and confidence quickly builds. ALWAYS assess your surroundings for obstructions BEFORE backing, not, ut ohhh!! 👍

Make sure you get the 6 point level up system. Easiest way to get it leveled with minimum hassle. Got mine with the separate washer and dryer also. They work great, wouldn't buy another TT without them. Don't get the combo unit.

We could not deal with the crook in the neck that a 36RE might give us. We went the CKTS route for that very reason. Love being able to sit in front of, rather than to one side, when watching a DVD of TV.

I was always told.. "Back up until it sounds expensive!"...
