36CKTS Standard fridge pics?
We are looking at ordering a 36CKTS and will probably stick with the standard residential fridge.
I'm looking for pictures of said refrigerator and the pantry that would be next to it.
Anyone have that setup that could post a picture for me - with the pantry door closed and open?
Thanks!

Residential fridge has no pantry next to it in the slide. The Pantry is the "Hoosier Cabinet" to the right on the interior wall. The good news is that mine is a '12 so things may have changed, or not.

You get the pantry only if you have the gas/electric refrig. because it is smaller in width than the electric refrig.

In looking at the new floorplan and specs, the standard fridge is now an 19 cu.ft. residential fridge. Upgrades are available to the 20 cu. ft. french door residential or the 18 cu. ft. gas/electric 4-door. Or so the dealer says.
I'd really like to see what it looks like before we order, because the floor plan with the pantry appears to show a very small counter to the right of the stove also.
I've looked at pics online and also on you tube only see the French Door fridge. Nobody (as yet) seems to have gotten the standard top freezer fridge.

dalspot,
Where did you find the new floorplan and specs, such as the info on the 19 cu. ft. residential refrigerator?
I keep checking Cedar Creek's website for an update, but not yet. Some dealer's websites update sooner than Cedar Creek. I see there is an electric heater option in the bedroom now.
In dealer stock pictures, the standard refrigerator sticks out farther than the French Door model. I wonder if it is an elbow knocker.

Great I hope you understand the "other issues" with residential fridges;
1) heavy
2) can not use on gas or 12 volt
3) need a "good" inverter
4) Should (must) add bigger and better batteries
5) can run while in travel but not recommended
As much as I like your decision people need to understand that with all things in life there are trade off's, so I thought I would help withy some info. Happy Camping

The 19 cu. ft. info came from the dealer. We saw a unit with the electric heater in the bedroom - and apparently they've cut the cabinet in the wall in half to accomodate the heater. I *think* the smaller cabinet is standard now from various pictures I've seen. If they are putting a residential fridge in, my vote would be for a counter depth one! I don't like how it sticks out.

Thanks for the info on the residential fridge. I'm not a fan of them, but don't want to pay to upgrade to the double door gas/electric - a $2,000+ upgrade! And I want a bigger fridge than my current 8 cu.ft. But NOWHERE in the literature do I see what the standard fridge is. I am going by what the dealer told me. A call to Forest River may be in order, because I never trust a dealer to *really* know what is going on.

Yes on the new 2015 and up models a residential fridge is standard on the Cedar Creeks. On my copy of the price list the gas/electric is a $2,023 option and the 20 Cu.FT. SS /French Doors with inverter/icemaker is a $1,233 Option. The smaller 18 CU. FT. (I think) residential fridge is part of a package and is standard.
I also run the fridge when towing with the inverter on; I pulled 7,000 miles this year with no issues at all.

2016 36ckts early model
Love our 36ckts with 18.7 cu ft residential frig. We run on 4 6 volt batteries and inverter all day traveling with no problems. We do not have the bedroom heater and don't want it, don't need it. Be sure and order the Trail Air pin box. Very important for ride and longevity of your TT and TV. Enjoy.

Gilpalmer,
How do you keep the refrigerator doors closed when traveling? Did Cedar Creek provide something for that?

Ours has a nylon snap strap. The only thing to keep in mind is to keep heavy objects in the door shelves otherwise will bump against door and make it ajar even with straps on. We traveled about 5 hours today with it on and no issues.

With the standard 18 CU. FT. fridge there is a threaded rod with a star knob that screws into the middle of fridge. This will hold the doors closed durning travel.

We use a homemade inverted U shaped piece of plywood. Slips inside the upper door handles. The legs are just far enough apart to hold the doors closed.

I ordered the opt with resident frig and inverter and have had no trouble running it while traveling. I put 2 of the large rv/marine batteries and works fine.

On the 36ckts with the two door 18.7 cu. ft residential referigerator that came with a locking bolt with a plastic end on it did not keep the two doors closed. We cleaned up two major milk and stuff messes on the floor. I simply took a small piece of wood and drilled a hole in it and installed it on the bolt behind the plastic knob. It holds good and tight now. I also tied a small rope to the inside of the plastic knob and around both door handles so nothing moves now. A final solution to that problem.

Gilpalmer,
Thanks for the info. I wondered if it came with the knob and how well it worked.
