36RE foul odor
Took delivery of our 2012 Cedar Creek 36RE in April. Really enjoying it. Have recently been experiencing a foul odor in bathroom area as well as in front wardrobe and wall drawer area. Not really sewer I don't think. Possibly grey water. Installed a Blue Streak auto chemical dispenser on commode and works pretty good. Even added grey tank lemon deodorizer but still have the odor. Anybody else experiencing this? Any ideas/solutions? Thanks in advance. Steve

There has been talk recently of the tank vents being blocked. This has been the cause for several on the forum lately. Do a quick search and I'm sure you can find the thread.

I used to get that all the time in my previous camper till I started draining my hot water heater. The smell is a sulfur bacteria from well water.

Here's a few things about it.
I simply drain my Hw heater after each use and leave the anode rod out and that works for me.
Never had the smell back.

I doubt it's the wh with the trailer being just 6 months old, I would get on the roof, remove the vent cap on the sewer vent and measure down to the bottom of the tank and then hook the vent pipe itself and see what the difference is. It should be at least 3" or 4" difference. See if you can determine just how deep the tank itself is. The vent pipe should not stick down much over 1" into the tank.

I've also heard that a rotten egg smell can be present if the charger is cooking the battery instead of dropping back to battery tender when the battery is fully charged.

Sulfur bacteria from well water can introduce odor in one week's time.

Don't doubt that a bit, but the odor would be much greater when the hot water is used. If only flushing the toilet, it would only be cold water and using it every other week should keep it flushed pretty well. Still think it's a plugged or partially plugged vent or as one poster suggested a boiling battery.

We found are problem with this.
There is a check valve behind the drawers on the right front where washer dryer would go. We put a plastic bag over the vent and zip tied to secure and problem solved. You need to remove a couple of drawers to get access.
I have been told a replacement is available at Home Depot.

Sounds like a "vent check" also used in mobile homes to allow piping to drain. Supposed to prevent odors out but they can hang up and allow vapor to excape.

They are used a lot in remodeling old homes and in new construction. Saves cutting holes in the roof for vents.

The vent is after the p trap.

36RE Foul Odor
Sorry for the delay. Been camping and had limited Computer access. Will check the w/d vent area when I am able. Put lemon scent gray water tank deodorizer and it helped some. Had shoulder surgery 1 1/2 weeks ago and small areas are next to impossible in a sling. Thanks for all the replies. Steve
