36RE slide problem

We have a 2010 CC 36RE that is having an issue with the large slide containing the fridge, stove, counter and chairs. When it's being extended out, it makes a loud popping sound. The side of the slide with the hydraulic cylinder (chair/TV side) jumps the gear causing the slide to go out crooked. It leaves the fridge side not able to extend all the way out. Husband has tried adjusting the slide but can't seem to fix. We've read on other forums about adding a washer to the slide but have found no details where to install it. Anyone else have experience resolving this issue?
