38FB2

Think we have narrowed it down to the 38FB2. The people that have one, how do you like it? We are thinking of getting the pantry instead of the bathroom, along with dual pane windows, slide toppers, upgraded hitch, and possibly a 5500 gen, theater seating instead of dual recliners, maybe more. Thanks in advance.

I cant talk to 38FB2.(see sig) We like the dual pane windows because they are dark and help keep the noise out. We would not be with out the slide topper, keeps slide clean, and we started off with the Lazy Boy recliners and while at Goshen, upgraded to the theater style and love it. Much more comfortable for us and you don't have to turn them sideways to travel. We have the Flexair Trailair Hitch and like it but if we had a do over we would buy the Trailair Tri-Glide Air Ride. We opted out of the expensive and heavy fuel drinking generator and installed Solar with a small Honda for a back up.
Good Luck !

I too have settled on getting the 38FB2. Although the selling point for me was the second bathroom. As soon as my house sells I will find the best price. Good luck.

Thanks for the info

actually I was wondering what your thoughts was on the 7 year extended warranty, think it was over $4000.00

We are getting ready to order our Cedar Creek later this year. I believe Forest River still offers a 2nd year factory warranty for a couple hundred bucks. We will be getting that 2nd year and then look into an extended warranty. They can be purchased from a warranty company for a lot less than through a dealer.
Just my opinion, but $4000 is way too much.

No 2nd AC, just a ceiling fan? Mighty big rig for 1 AC when the temps are up.

One a/c is unrealistic for that size unit. Sure that's not an omission error in the info supplied by the poster?!
Hope so!!
If not, better buy a screen room and big fan because summer will be HELL in that beautiful rig!
You'll need theatre seating style lawn chairs!
Almost every 40ft motorhome of quality has 3, not 2, a/c units for a reason. HEAT ABATEMENT.
Those caps; walls and roofs are not nearly as insulated as you are led to believe. Dual pane windows can only do so much; and it "ain't" as much as you might expect.
Another a/c is not expensive on a relative cost/enjoyment basis.

Congrats on your order ! Good move on the 12ft awning on the slide, I wish I had done that. As for the warranty, FR does offer a second year warranty for about $150. If I remember right, you have to purchase it before a certain time of ownership expires, but I don't remember when that was. I opted not to buy it, as I have no local dealer. That price of the extended warranty can be negotiated.
