38FL Owners.

Im thinking about ordering a new CC 38FL. My only concern being that the two couches dont look to comfortable. Has anyone changed out a couch for something else? Any other options would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

We have the leather couches and they are fine. I have spent many hours watching TV or working on the computer. No current plans to switch them out. The LazyBoy chair is comfy as well, but the DW wants a swivel rocker, so that may get changed out at some point.

We thought the same thing until we actually got to use them during a recent 2 week trip - they're fairly comfortable. We did decide to order another recliner for the DW for those times when she wants to "kick back" to max relax....

I appreciate the replies. We are going to be spending quite a bit of time in it so we definitely want it to be comfy. Does it have spings in them or are they both pull out beds? The couch we have now is a pull out and its not too comfortable.

They're both pullouts - but they're air mattresses so there's no "lumpiness"

We have one pullout with air mattress (off door side) and one with two recliners (door side).

Great choice on considering the CC 38 fl. I ordered mine several weeks ago and hope to collect it in about another five, just before Easter. It has been a very long wait up to now and I find myself willing away the days until we can pick it up. Right now I'm in the process of ordering bits for it from CW. One thing I did find with the sofas when we viewed the rig was the legs on the hide away bed wouldn't deploy correctly. Basically, neither me nor the service engineer could press the small button that releases the legs when converting to a bed. The dealership assured me this would be fixed before we took possession. I was also surprised to see both sofas converted to beds. I think prior to the 2014 model, one was a recliner sofa.

Anyway, best wishes for the future if you go with the 38fl. I think it is an excellent model.

FR stopped offering the recliner sofa due to mechanical problems - at least that's what they told us after ours was supposed to have one of each but arrived with two pullouts

Note of caution - opening and closing the air-mattress bed - they have plastic guards on the hinges, open and close these slowly watching those hinges as they are very tight between the arm rests and I am constantly afraid they are going to pinch the leather. Too cold out there right this minute or I would take a picture and post it.

Thanks for the advice about opening the supports for the air mattress beds. I'll certainly keep that in mind, although I'm kinda hoping not to have too many guests staying in the new rig with us. It will also mean we would have to string a curtain across the living room area in order to provide some degree of privacy if the wife I wanted to use the kitchen early in a morning to brew a coffee.

I was hoping to order it with the theater style seating on one side but I was informed that's no longer an option. Bummer.

The rep at the Timonium show said that all the couches now will be Lazy Boys, one of the unit had the old couch and we thought it was very uncomfortable.

i think it's crazy to have two sofas, instead of at least one theater reclining couch or a couple of recliners and only one sofa that makes into a bed.
who in a 5th wheel, needs to have two beds in the living room? only a minority of owners would ever need that and it would be occasional.

Ya, that was our take on it too. Not even sure how it would work with both couches pulled out.

Yes only about 2 feet from end of the bed when open and the recliners. Not sure I could even open a recliner with the bed open.

I was wondering about being able to open both beds at the same time. I wont have to worry about it because I plan on taking one of them out.

We thought of taking one of them out as well, but couldn't figure out how to re-purpose the space because of the four inch differential between the slide floor and the living room floor. Not really deep enough for a recliner or other "comfy" seating.....
