38fl remote control and water heater

Just bought a 2012 Cedar Creek 38FL. I have 2 questions. 1. The remote says to push and hold button on the relay module. I can not find the relay module, can some one let me know where it is on the 38fl? 2. How can I turn the hot water tank on for elect, i only have one on/off switch and when I turn it on, it is using gas. I do have the camper plugged into ac power. Thanks for any help that someone can provide me.

I have been told (but never bothered to get around to looking for it) that the relay is in behind the multi function station (water inlet, filter, hydraulic slide controls, etc) next to the hydraulic tank and motor. Again, I can neither confirm nor deny that because I have never bothered to go and look.

As for the hot water on electric only, take a look on the outside of the rig where you hot water tank is. Tucked away nicely behind some pipes is a switch that when activated is the source or hot water you are searching for. Just remember to switch it off before you empty the HW tank for the winter and leave it switched off until after filling the tank again.

I was told that the water heater on/off switch on the control pannel turns on the GAS heating and if you want the electric off, turn off the breaker.
Hutch333id I just looked at the WH in my 2015 CC, found the switch, it is in the ON position, but the switch in the control panel is off so I believe I am using ONLY electric. I have not heard or felt the gas run

Thanks for the info. I think the element may be bad, because I turned the switch off in the camper and turned on the switch located at the WH and did not get any hot water after a couple hours.

If the switch next to the WH was on and there hasn't been any water in the tank it would take only a couple of seconds to burn out the element. I have managed to do this once. It isn't a big job replacing the element and there are several videos on You Tube to demonstrate how it is done.

There is no need to remove the breaker to use gas only, just flick the switch by the WH to 'off' and you'll only have gas as the option to heat the water. The way you have it running now is the same way I have mine operating all the time, electric only. I haven't used the gas only option but I have been told it heats the water more quickly.
