As was mentioned with today's 5 th wheels and if you have at least a 6.5 foot bed you will never use a slider. I asked numerous people before installing my fixed hitch. Every person said they never used it. I believe the selling point of a slider is the dealer s tries to scare you by saying you might need it. But the survey says you will not.

I have 6.5‘ bed towing fiver with revolution pin. Dont need my slider hitch. Just bought legs to replace the slide mechanism and will be looking to sell it cheap if the legs work out. Never needed the slide with wildcat 5er either. Towed it 3 years.

Hey Dave, Do you have the wedge engaged or do you have yours set up like a regular king pin? I went from a 5.5' bed to a 6.5' bed and am thinking about putting the wedge back where it was and just leaving the kingpin as a standard kingpin.

I have the wedge engaged. Benn that way from the dealer. I like not ever having to worry about it. However, i did find the wedge loose once and had to reseat and retorque it. I have the 6.5' bed.

Yep. I have to do the same this weekend. It's only touching on one side now. It makes a horrible notice when turning.

Had a reese slider in my f250 with my 36 ckts, only needed it 2 times but had it not been there we would not have been camping as the site was the last one, right now I have a reese signature 24K and an 8'box so slider not required.

As I repeat the story....
Maiden voyage, never towed a 5er or TT, tight spot(best they had) many many trees, nervous DH and DW, dog and kids restless.... Crunch and dented cab. Finally got slide installed(had GN adapter)...next trip-next weekend is a pretty tight spot too. I will be extending the slide pre-park.
