6 volt batteries

We just bought a 31RK Silverback. It has 2 6 volt batteries to run the refrigerator when there is no electricity. How long will the 2 charged batteries run the refrigerator? ? We would like to go to Two Medicine Lake in Montana that has no electrical service and are concerned about how long we can stay there.

Assuming a residential fridge, maybe 6 hours before needing a charge.

Residential fridge models are not really optimum for no hookup camping.

You should buy a good QUIET generator like a Honda 2000 (and a good 3 or 4 stage dedicated battery charger) to charge the batteries every day so you can get through the night.

And keep the refrigerator door closed as much as possible.

Would adding some solar charging keep up with the demand during the daytime?
Generator hours can limit time away from the campsite.

Just out of curiosity did you order your 31RK with a residential fridge, as we have a 29 RE and I don't believe it wasn't an option for 2013?? Ours is 8 cu. ft. but an RV type fridge. (that is an absorption type using liquid ammonia)

The 6 hour answer is probably pretty close providing not too many other sources are also draining battery.
Cedar Creek says they should have at least (4) 6 volt batteries. Our dealer was going to only install 2 but we managed to get all 4 installed.
Tight fit but I think we could get away with a couple days off grid plus we have a Onan gen set when needed...

The residential fridge option is supposed to come with 4x6-Volt batteries. (T-105) to support the inverter for the fridge.

We have a 38FL with the Residential fridge. 4x6-Volt batteries and have run on the batteries during the summer for up to 3 days before we hit 50% of battery usage. (Using a meter to test - not the idiot lights)

I have now installed the Trimetric meter to keep a closer eye on the battery condition with the plan to install Solar next year for when we are boon docking. Anyone tells you that the Residential Fridge cannot be used boon docking I will tell you that we have done it for weeks at a time, twice a year, for the last two years since we bought the rig. We do have a generator when needed and to run for a couple of hours each night to cool the rig (AC) and charge the batteries.

yes there should be 4 batteries but 2 are house and 2 are for the ref. they don't last very long .lucky to get 6 hours out of them

Our batteries are wired in series and parallel and we have run the fridge on it for 4 days without problems (minimal other use as it was just testing). We have had no problems running for 24 hours with lights, TV, Fridge and such.
