The information provided with the unit does not cover what you need to WATCH for to prevent icing. I had a local RV specialist give me a courtesy look, see, and it saved me money and provided a learning tool.
Here is the deal on my 2015 Silverback with dual a/c.
* Icing CAN occur when you have the AC units running all of the time without a lapse in the recycle time. To prevent this, make sure your "fan" is set on automatic.
* 2nd; start your AC by cycling DOWN to the first level of coolness that turns the AC on. Once you reach that level, let AC run until it cycles off. Once that level is reached drop another 3 to 4 degrees until AC recycles.

* In hot climates, start your AC earlier in the day and allow it to keep cool with the build of external sun on the RV.
* IF you have dual air, run BOTH and do the same.
It works. Had icing last summer on 3 occasions until I followed these simple rules. No more issues even in very hot weather. We leave a pet in the RV during trips and it is critical our AC's continue to function properly.
The Dometic AC units are NOT built the same as your home AC. How could they? These are typically some variation build of the old style window AC units with a different air flow design.
