AAA camp books

Wifey and I went to AAA to grab a few camp books for our 2013 adventures. To our dismay AAA no longer carries camp books. Damn, I just renewed my $58.00 membership. I get roadside coverage thru another source and don't need their Trip-tix since I create my own. Thankfully they still have a 10% discount at certain campgrounds. But I'm bummed. Gheesh AAA has gotten cheap!

Are they no longer carrying them at all, or just charging for them? I had read awhile back that they were "teaming" up with Wooddall's and offering a co-branded campbook, but it would cost around $10 bucks.

I find campground guide pretty much worthless. Even the web sites are not much better. Woodalls, AAA, Good Sam, or anyone else I cant think of.
The only campgrounds in them are the ones that someone has paid for a spot or gotten a "good" rating. I awlays wonderwho gave then these ratings and when they got them. Most of the info is so out dated its worthless.

I called AAA about 3 weeks ago asking if they had a campground guide and truckers road atlas. They said they can help with the campground guide but not the truckers road atlas. They said at first to go to the AAA store and get them but after they looked to give me directions to the nearest one they realized it was to far. They then offered to mail it. It took 2 weeks for them to arrive. I received 4, 2013 Woodall's books covering Maine to Florida free of charge.

The Woodall's was an option at my local AAA for $2.95. To cover the entire country you have to buy a dozen or so editions. Fuggetaboutit! I picked up my truckers road atlas at a Pilot/Fying J.

A member of another forum I'm on started a website that includes ratings and pictures of campgrounds. It started with NC and has been spreading with user input. The website is still young but help it grow. CampgroundGallery.com
