Adding 2nd AC unit

I have a 2007 Silverback 30LSTS with 50 amp service. I'd like to add a 2nd AC unit. Since it is 50 amp service is it safe to assume it is pre-wired for the 2nd unit? Where would the thermostat wiring be? Any tips for adding a 2nd unit?

It is never safe to assume anything when it comes to RV construction.
Does the thermostat control more than one zone?

It's most likely wired for the 2nd AC and the wires are stubbed into the roof vent area. As for thermostat, it may or may not have a connection. Many just use the ceiling control panel in place of thermostat. The hardest part of installing an AC is getting it on the roof.

The existing thermostat only controls the existing ac. In my brother's 2013 silverback the 2nd ac is on it's own separate theromostat.

You should easily find the wires for the bdrm AC
when you remove the garnish ring from the existing
vent. Most likely 2 sets of wires. One pair of 12v for a
fan and one 110v NM cable (should be 12-2 w/ground).
As for the thermostat, it must be compatible with
the control box of your new unit. The AC installation
instructions/manual should give you that info. If you can
fish a wire to an interior bulkhead that would be beneficial.
I agree with the post about getting it up on the roof. I used
Bubba standing on a truck cap to heave ho it up. Had an old thick
comforter up there to protect the EPDM.

On my 2010 Sandpiper, there was actually a 2x4 single gang electrical box with a blank plate over it located about 4" from the vent/garnish ring. All I had to do was push them thru the ceiling cavity into the vent cutout, when I installed the 2nd AC.
