Air Conditioners in Florida

It seems like the AC cooling our living room in our COTTAGE cycles off for quite a short time. The 2nd over the B.R. and Bath cycles off for a longer period. Is there anything unusual here. I believe both AC's are 13.5 k and the one over the bedroom cools a smaller area. Both do a good job of cooling but i am concerned about the cycle time of the forward most ac.

Send a message via Yahoo to bob caldwell
Take outside covers off and insulate with the foil bubble wrap from HD or Lowes, and add alum. screening to vent openings

If one of the air vents is blowing air on or near the main thermostat ... change the vent direction. Your bedroom A/C should have its own TStat to make cycling differernt.

Some t'stats have an adjustable "Differential" or "Anticipator" setting.

Might the problem be that the front/main zone was set to medium fan and the back/second zone is set to automatic?

Lazy Days set the thermostat (other than temps) when we trialed the unit at their place. We had not touched this before. Maybe MY BAD.

The fan setting might make a difference ... might not. The difference in the automatic setting compared to an actual fan speed is the compressor cycles on and off with the fan continuing to run on say medium fan. Automatic ... it self selects the fan speed due to temp differential between set point and actual room temp. Also, the compressor and fan cycle on and off in automatic, not just the compressor. Read up on your TStat ... assuming it is digital, it may have an adjustable differential setting for each zone.
