Android moblie app

I loaded the FRF app onto my Droid this afternoon and all went well except it says I need permission to enter the site. I used the same ID and p\w. Does a moderator have to authorize me to get onto the mobile site?

No, it's the App. I deleted it shortly after the last update. It kept locking up when I tried to mark forums read. I discovered that it did not like when the last post was from someone on the ignore list. There is no way to tell that cause it does not display anything in that case. I don't have those issues now and the shunned names are visible in a placeholder on the full site. BTW, I almost exclusively access the web via my iPhone.

Ducky I'm confused. are you presently using the FRF Android app or something else?

I'm using direct access. I tried the iPhone app but it didn't work. I don't have an android phone so I don't know if there is any difference between android and iPhone app functionality. I was just saying that you don't need special permission. It should work.

Thanks Ducky. I've just entered the 21st century with a smart phone so all this is new to me. How do I get 'Direct Access'? Is it an app?

The direct access probably just means he was accessing the FRF website through a web browser like Safari. For you it would be Google Chrome or some other web browser on your Droid.

Charlotte is correct. I use Safari. Don't forget to install a good anti-virus/security program on your Android. Avast is a good choice but there are others.

Same here, and the app on my driod is always crashing on me. Sometimes I cant see any PM's on it. Uninstalled n re-installed ,taken out the garbage and clean up the trash.
I just kinda gave up on the app.

Does FRF outsource the development of the iOS and Android apps or is that done in-house?

Possibly there is a lot of customization on vBulletin here and therefore it may be causing some of the app issues. I know Tapatalk generally has high end-user ratings so I imagine that's what the problem could be.
