Any have an actual Silverback 35QB4 pin weight?

Hello,

The specs on the website states the DRY pin weight of the silverback 35QB4 is 1947 lbs. Does any one have an actual pin weight? If so, how heavy were you loaded?

The max GVWR on this unit is 15,500 so that means the loaded pin weight should average 15% (2325 lbs) to 25% (3875 lbs).

If the DRY pin weight is 1947 lbs, one must really have to load it heavy to get such a large pin weight to get over 2500 lbs. So if any one has any real life weight data, it would really be appreciate it. What is the max pin weight that you have seen?

The reason I am asking is a have a 2010 F250 diesel FX4 with airbags. I want this unit, but I am almost convinced my truck is too small, but before I put a nail in that coffin, I want to see what the real data shows.

Thanks!!!

I don't have that camper, but I can offer my 2 cents.

By the mfr's numbers, that model is 16% pin weight when empty. You'll probably add about 1500 lbs of stuff to the camper. If you could manintain that same pin weight %, it would be 2188 lbs. Chances are that the pin weight % will increase as you load the camper judging where the storage is in the floorplan.

The F250 diesel has a 10000 lb GVWR but is no lightweight, probably over 8000 lbs ready to camp. The pinweight is probably put you over the truck's GVWR but under it's GAWR. You'll have to decide if you're comfortable with that. It will tow it no problem...same powertrain as the F350, just lower payload.

My pin weight came out to 2320 lbs fully loaded, empty tanks. Trailer gross was 14060 lbs.

Not a Silverback but close

I have a Cedar Creek 36b4, with all the options, which has the generator, washer dryer, leveling system all in the front. My pin weight is 4025lbs. with tanks empty. I have pulled my whole life, since growing up on a farm, and can tell how a truck handles pulling, without reading numbers. You might be over on the numbers but with the airbags, and your brakes adjusted a titch strong on the trailer, when on the highway, you will be fine.
