Auto Mode

How can I turn off the auto mode on my dometic thermostat. The mode that will turn on the air if say your in furn mode to cool down to furn temp. I pushed the mode/zone buttons to rest, but the auto mode is still there. Thanks

Cycle through the mode setting until it shows the mode you want.

There are two kinds of "Auto".

First is the Mode button, A/C, Heat, Heat Pump, Auto, etc. "Auto" is at the top of the display.

Second is the Fan button, Auto, Hi, Med, or Low fan speed. "Auto" is next to the fan blade symbol.

If you are seeing "Auto" next to the fan blade symbol, that is Auto Fan Speed.

I mostly use Auto Fan Speed. If it is not on Auto, I have read that the fan will run non-stop at the selected speed, even when A/C or Heat Pump are not on.

I am going by memory, I think you press the "Mode" button repeatedly to cycle through the available modes and stop when you see the one you want.

Press the zone button until you get to the zone you want. I assume you have 2 zone with a main ac and a bedroom ac. Anyway select the zone then press the fan button. It will toggle thru auto, lo, hi. Auto the fan will only run when the ac is running.. lo and high stay on all the time.

Go to pg. 5, lower left for instruction. You are speaking of auto switch from furnace to ac depending on temp. I thought you were speaking of the fan mode. Anyway, select the zone and then Press the mode button until you just see Cool or Furn or Off. Seems right now at the top of your screen you see Auto...

The on/off switch turns the everything on or off and does not effect the mode. When you push the o/o button it just turns the system on or off and does not change the last mode that was set.

Let's try to walk thru this...Let's assume the system is off..

Press o/o, the thermostat lights up and will tell you the status when it was last turned off...

Let's assume you want to cool in Zone 1 (I'm assuming you have a 2 zone, i.e. An ac in the bedroom?)

Press the zone button until zone 1 appears on the screen
Now press the mode button until cool shows on the screen
Now press the up/down arrow to set the temp
Press the fan button to set auto, hi, med or low..

Now the ac should start cooling if it is hotter than your set temp

If you push the off button the thermostat will go off and the ac will stop after a delay period.

If you push on the unit will come back on exactly where you just turned it on.

Your problem is the mode is set to auto and not cool or furnace. You can set it to off but the ac or furnace will not turn on until you set the mode for the one you need.

So with the mode you can select ac or heat or auto to automatically switch from cool,to heat if for instance a cold front thru and your unit was cooling but now needs to heat. I never use auto mode. I either select color or furnace or off. Off when I want to run just the fan on low,med or high.. hope this helps
