Axle load and wheel strength

I have a 2018 29ik and was curious about the axle load limit and also the wheel psi rating with the aluminum wheels.

Any help is appreciated.

If your camper is with you and you're limber- there is often a sticker on the axle tube itself.

My trailer isn't with me and unfortunately, I'm not limber.

Your 29IK has 6000# axles under it with probably 110 psi rated wheels. There should be a psi number stamped on the back of your wheels. Your stock tires are rated at 80 psi max inflation.

Thank you. Will look at the back of the rims when I see the trailer next week.

Curious, as to why you are asking?

Axle to see if I need to upgrade, wheels to see if I can go from load E to G.

Most any 7000# axles are equipped with 8 lug wheels which you currently don't have. Unless you full time, you probably wont come near the GVWR of you Silverback during use ... I don't with my 33IK. Only way to know to ease your mind is go to a scale and weigh it with what you normally travel with ... then go from there.

Thanks, I agree on axle. If it was 5,000 pound, would need to upgrade to 6.

With my weight, load range E is ok, but may still upgrade if the wheels will take it. Can't see any harm in that upgrade.

I to have a 33IK no issue with axles. However, I will tell you that I went against my own rules and kept the original 80 psi 10 ply tires after one season instead of putting on new ones. Hence a blow out of a tire that looked brand new, without any warning. Took out all the electrical wiring on that side.

So It would not be a bad Idea to upgrade the tires. I went to 14 ply steel cased 110 psi G rated tires. There are no markings on my rims as to max psi rating, so the manufacture was called, their response was that their rim will handle any properly installed and sized tire for the rim. The tire manufacturer Omni Cargo advise to run the tires at 100 psi based on my weight numbers. They said any higher would cause premature center wear.

While there is always a possibility of a flat or blowout, upgrading gave me a little more piece of mind.
