Just wanted to post after wifey complaining all of last year about the light coming into the bedroom from the sky lite in the shower and I noticing all the heat that also was coming in I ordered 20% window tint and installed in the shower and man has it helped lower all the heat by 70% and also the wife is a happy camper , next is to install tint on the storm door to stop most the heat coming in from there . Anything to help the poor AC units .
An alternate way to cut down on heat transfer thru the tub skylight is to remove the inner lense (a few screws) and place a couple of layers of 1" bubblewrap inbetween the inner and outer lense ... replace the inner lense. It sounds pretty shade tree, but it does work.

I found some 1 3/4 - 2" polyethylene foam and cut blocks of it for the 3 vents and the skylight for exactly the same reason. Cut them a tad oversize on the L & W so they hold themselves in place. They still transmit light in the shower, but, the radiant heat is way less

This is my way of blocking the sun from coming through the skylight. Very simple and economical to do and you can access the skylight for clearance when taking a shower.
I use four screen retention clips that use the screws from the skylight to hold the 1/4" foam core board in place this is cut to fit the skylight. see attached pictures.

Why FR put a clear dome on the shower I don't know I like some of the ideas to cut the light and heat. I'm thinking about replacing the outside dome with a smoke colored one. bubble wrap or window tint both inexpensive.

These are great ideas we just bought our new 35 ik and are looking for the same idea to cut down on the heat. Thanks for sharing the pictures I'd love to see more ideas of what others have done as well
