Battery not holding a charge

Anyone out there having issues with their batteries losing a charge even though the disconnect switch is off? I notice that the landing gear and slides will also work even though the battery switch is off, does this seem like a normal issue? the camper is four months old.

No this is not normal. Your battery is not disconnecting or the slide and landing gear wouldn't work. Without knowing which type of disconnect you have (cable type, Leaver type or rotary type) I can't give you much info. Your battery is staying connected that's why your batt is discarging. You will need to find where the disconnect located and the determine with a multi meter if it is accually disconnecting. If not figure out why. Sorry I couldn't be any more help.

Slides and landing gear may be out out of the loop when battery is disconnected.
unhook your battery cables after a full charge and
See if it still goes dead before you go any further.

The battery shutoff in the trailer is convenient, but putting a disconnect right on the battery itself is probably the easiest and cheapest way to make sure the battery is really off.

Just purchased a battery disconnect today, I have a feeling the one from the factory is not doing the job, hopefully this will take care of the issue. Thanks to all.

It always helps to put what trailer you own and what year it is in your signature. Not all units are built the same and many things vary from year to year. On my 2013 Silverback the factory installed battery disconnect cuts power to the inside of the trailer but not the landing gear. This is normal for my brand.

On my Rockwood 2012 2904 SS.
If I do not disconnect the battery, it will discharge in a matter of days.
The only devise I see "on" is the gas sensor.
From what I can tell, nothing else is "running".

When the battery disconnect is "engaged", the power tongue jack and the slide out are the only 2 items that still will operate.

I take the fuse out of the power jack so no one can "play" with it.
