CC 36B4 Discontinued?

Got an email from my dealer today with news I wish / hope wasn't true. He says they are no longer building the CC 36B4 according to the FR rep. That's a shame. Kind of messed up our whole plans, or rearranged them. We really wanted the bigger shower and res fridge, in a bunkhouse, and the 37bh doesn't work for us. The 36B4 was pretty much it. Guess we'll end up going with the Silverback, or move on to another manufacturer, or build our own. This just plain aggravates me, but I guess their wasn't a huge market for a high end bunk house.

Maybe if this is true... Time to quick look at dealers with that model and see if they are willing to talk turkey on the price...

For example:

I wish, but there's just way too many things we didn't want, that most people do want. Things not wanted were the level up, outdoor kitchen, full paint just to name a few. However, did want a third AC, genset and res fridge. We're hard to please no doubt. We were planning to order it just like we wanted, and that wasn't going to be until our house sold, which it hasn't. So, we're kind of at the drawing board, but hearing of a few changes to the Silverback which might work for us. Positive note? Just bought the new tow vehicle, '13 F-350 dually with more stuff than I know what to do with.

Does anyone out there know if this is true or not? We have a 36B4 and it is such a great rig it is really sad to think it may go out of production after such a short time.

Our 2014 36B4 was built in May of this year. The model year does not change until March/April of 2014. If this is true I would be surprised. Call another dealer and ask them to call Cedar Creek.

Maybe. They may have a set date for production to end, or not. Like most manf, they are slow to update the website. With some models, a '14 on the lot is different than a '14 on the website. I'll probably just call CC and ask. It wouldn't surprise me to see them discontinue the 36b4, as they are supposed to be revamping the silverback some. Not a lot of people want a top end bunk house. Sunnybrook / Mobile Scout did similar things before selling out to Winnebago.

The 36B4 was discontinued a month ago. Cedar Creek has revamped the Silverback line with all sorts of new features and options and felt there was too much duplicatoin to offer two identical floorplans.

New Silverbacks will offer Hickory kitchen cabinets with linoleum flooring that looks like plank flooring. Level up will be offered, new bathrooms, new master bedroom closets, new exteriors colors and graphics as well.

I have seen pictures of the new Silverbacks and they look fantastic.

Glad we didn't wait - we had our heart set on a Cardinal 3804BH (luxury quad bunk) and it was discontinued right before we were going to buy. It made me worry that Forest River was moving away from high-end quad bunks. We had our heart set on a 36B4 and we would have been crushed to start looking all over again. We understand the move - sad to hear this is the case, but it makes sense.
