Progressive said it wasn't a retread...just a very cheap tire. With a risk of this happening again, we purchased new tries all the way around. We hope to keep them and replace the tires on our new rig.

They were surprised that a 2 year old tire with less than 6000 miles would do this... I did hear a Camping World sales person say that a tire doing this wasn't possible.... So wanted to share! We have new tires all the way around!! That blowout caused 2k in damage.. Ouch!
Why? I would argue that they are not experienced with STs of the last decade... Can easily tell it's not a retread if you are familiar with modern tire making. I have a very good friend who owns an independent business that performs nothing but RV, truck and bus repair. The average camper blowout repair cost, according to his books, is $2300! Glad you're getting back together!

1. What options did you order? Such as side by side refrigerator; ottoman; thermopane windows and or washer dryer style.

2. What type of tire was delivered either LT or ST style?

3. Do you know what the CSA seal & construction consisted of?

I am trying to figure out how the trailer was 1400 LBS over advertise shipping weight.

Thanks

Jim
Hi Jim,

Glad to answer what I can as I have not actually seen the trailer yet. Should go to the dealer this weekend or next. He sent me a pic of the actual weight sticker.

OPTIONS:
7,000 lbs axles, 6 hydraulic jacks, Dual pane Windows, 18 cu ft fridge, Generator preparation, Heat pump on A/C, Awning toppers, Wireless camera, Create a breeze fantastic fan in bedroom

TIRES:
ST/235/85R16/G They should be Goodyear but I need to confirm.

CSA:
Need to find out more about that.

Hope the above helps.
JC

What was the brand of tire you had a blow out with?

Thanks,
JC

When I picked up my trailer from the dealer it had a yellow sticker on the main door with a delivered weight. While the spec from FR was 12.4k or so the actual weight was just over 13k. I am sure they weigh the units prior to departure or have a log of weights with certain options but the yellow sticker was nice to know what my baseline weight was.

The weight listed in there literature is standard NO options. Whatever options are ordered by you or the dealer will increase the finished weight. The sticker on the door is weight off the line.
