I know that was a tough decision but IMO I think it was the right one. I hope everything works out better on the second one.

Yes I am still reeling about the decision because I had trips planned but at the same time I am glad I will have a trailer without any known damage. It is just a matter of time, slow agonizing, excruciating time (lol) but best things come to thise who wait, right. So I should be getting the best of the best (lol).

I would've had them repair fiberglass and knock a couple k off. I have had bass boat hulls repaired and 10 years later nobody has any clue that it was ever repaired.

But that's me, I am a touch impatient and want to camp this fall.

And a boat hull takes way more pounding than the nose of a camper.

I wanted them to repair and take some money off but they wouldnt. They offered to take $750 off. I told them they were crazy and to just order me a new one and so they did. It doesnt make sense to me but it is what it is.

That's a real bummer. I agree a new unit is the way to go. We have a 35qb4 and two weeks after we got it discovered long cracks on the right side. After taking a closer look I found a spot a foot square that was painted with sand scratches and yes you can tell when gelcoat is painted. Since it was only at the dealer for 36 hours they didn't do it. So the fight began with Forestriver three months and they sent a new cap. Was repaired at dealer and was fine. Do to it being late in the year it spent the winter at the dealer and in the spring had cracks again from under right hand molding. Not happy They are only two inches long but if it had been right from the factory they wouldn't be their now. I have asked for a second new cap. You made the right choice. Good luck

Wow Jscribner, I am sorry you are going through that but your story does make me feel better about my decision. I was starting to second guess myself a little because I so want to hit the road now and not wait. Thanks for reminding me that I made the right choice.

Not sure if the above was pointed at my response, nor do I care but if gel coat is done reputable then it would be fine.

Did not mean to offend, I just give light to my own experience. You are right if you have someone that is good with gelcoat, but I have never seen one that i trust. If I had my experience to do over I would have pushed for a new camper, it was not a good way to start off. We love our camper and the dealer had been great, just too many issues. Sorry if i offended.
