Av8orLou,
Don't let anyone on the sidelines make you second guess any decision you make. You were absolutely correct in this, as good as this dealer is with their body shop, it would still have been just a repaired unit that you would have had the rare opportunity of paying for over & over. You did right. BTW don't let the "hitch itch" get the best of you. If it helps you can always rent 'till yours is delivered.

I talked to Justin at FR this morning, a really nice guy, he is looking into the new build for me to keep me up to date since I am having to reorder.

Sure hate to see you put a hitch in the rear of that Vette, probably have to put some airbags on it! Never seen a Vette pulling a 5er.

Yes it was tuff to design the hitch but I just have to drop the convertible top to hook up and go. Not too fun in the rain though. Lol.

I thought 01 Vettes came equipped with His & Her umbrellas. Did you not get yours?

I was being cheap and traded them for the hitch, I now think that wasn't the best idea, but its ok I will just have to hide under the fiver when its raining.

Oh, so you put a slider in backwards so you can just do a 180į turn and be out of the rain under the 5er. Clever!

Thats it, its amazing what a little ingenuity can do. I am selling the idea to chevy but they are concerned that at speeds over 100 it might be a little dangerous hauling that much weight with a vette but I had it to 150 and it was fine. Thise engineers are sooo concerned about protecting their rear ends they wont approve anything

Av8,
I bought in June 2011 34RLSA Loaded up w/ 6pt levelers, and everything except washer/dryer. Love it, only issue is cable operated holding tanks. last trip out black tank would not close. since day one, the dump valves have required a strong steady pull to open and close. of course i was 2 wks past initial warranty and the dealer wasnt going to help out. because of a 5wk wait to get my Rig back after some minor warranty issues within the first six months, I did not want to repeat the long wait, so went elsewhere for the repair. 5 hrs and $535.00 later the black valve works like butter, open and close. I have heard from others that the cablepulls just are not working reliably. seems engineers could design something better at the git-go.
